Contributor License Agreement
Before we can accept contributions, you need to sign our CLA

Our project uses a dual licensing model (GPL-3.0 open source + commercial) with plans to evolve toward more permissive licenses. The CLA ensures we have the rights to:

  • Accept your contributions to both open source and commercial releases
  • Transition components to more permissive licenses as they mature
  • Maintain clear patent rights for all contributions

Individual contributors: Sign when you submit your first pull request.
Corporate contributors: Your employer must sign the Corporate CLA.

Open Source + Commercial

Dual licensing for maximum flexibility

Open Source (GPL-3.0)

Freely available for open source projects and learning. Full framework features with community support.

  • Complete source code access
  • Community-driven development
  • GPL-3.0 compatible projects
  • Free forever
Commercial License

For businesses building proprietary software. No GPL restrictions, priority support, and commercial indemnification.

  • No copyleft obligations
  • Priority technical support (SLA)
  • Private support channels
  • License evolution benefits
License Evolution Framework
Components may become more permissive over time

Our unique evolutive license framework allows components to transition to more permissive licenses (MPL-2.0 or MIT+Apache-2.0) as they mature. Your contributions benefit both tracks, and commercial licensees automatically receive all evolution benefits.

Community Standards

We keep it simple

  1. 1

    Be respectful.

Treat everyone with professional courtesy. We're a community of developers, designers, and audio enthusiasts.

  2. 2

    Be helpful.

Share knowledge and provide context (code, versions, frameworks) when asking for or giving support.

  3. 3

    Stay on topic.

This space is for AudioUI, audio/MIDI development, and related technical topics.

  4. 4

    Use common sense.

If it feels like spam, harassment, or off-topic noise, it probably is.

Detailed channel-specific guidelines are available in our Discord server's #rules channel.
